A partner feature from the Forge.
Every setup has a before. Ours was a blank wall over the Forge desk — good gear, no light, no life. Then MeRGBW sent us their Hexagon Light Panels (the 12-pack) to put through a real room, and the wall stopped being a wall.
The ring nobody planned
We laid the twelve panels out to build a solid hexagon — and partway through, the pattern turned into a hollow ring, one panel thick. The shape of our own GS emblem, drawn in light, by accident. We left it exactly like that. The additional sets have arrived — the full ring is in hand, and the completed-build photos land here as the wall goes up.
What we found, living with them
- Build your own shape. The panels are modular hexagons — link them into a ring, a cluster, a line, whatever your wall wants.
- App control that stays out of the way. The Hexagon Lights app connects over Bluetooth: a full color wheel, brightness on a slider, and tabs for Scenes, Music, and DIY when you want to build your own looks.
- Music mode. Set it and the panels react to the sound in the room — game audio and streams included.
- A remote in the box for quick changes from the chair, no phone needed.

Run it from your phone
Pick a color, save it, build a scene, or hand the wall over to the music. That is the whole learning curve.

Light up the letters
The wall is getting its name next. Yi and the MeRGBW team are sending their LED Light Up Letters — a G and an S for the GS monogram, to burn alongside the panel ring. The letters run through the same MeRGBW app, so they will take the same colors and scenes as the panels. Ours are coming — build photos land here the week they arrive, and the videos we make with Yi get shot in the same session as the finished wall.
